I hate the rain... especially if I have to drive 80 miles in it to work. I call this a Liacouras Center morning because it reminds me of everyday I ever spent at the Liacouras Center. When I worked there last year, it seemed like this type of weather every day. Ugh...

Here's some analysis from a friend of mine, Mike Barnes (he's an Eagles expert)...

As long as we play the way we have been playing…… We will win convincingly. It’s pretty clear to what the game plan should be:

1). Contain Tiki Barber

2). Control the Line of scrimmage

3). Put Eli Manning in 3rd and long and make him beat you!!!!

4). Win the turnover battle

I believe the Eagles are playing at a really high-level right now. If they take the approach of one game at a time, and don’t look ahead, they will be playing in February.
The day of reckoning is almost upon us... Mr. Buster goes to court. Tomorrow night, I'll be heading to Franklin Township's muni court at 6pm. Should be entertaining for all. Nothing like a bumfuck town's court system. Honestly, my perdiction is I'll be walking out of that place $275 poorer than I came in. In case you don't remember, I was pulled over for going 9 miles over the speed limit ($95) and to compound matters, did not have my registration with me ($180 - ouch). So we'll see how things play out. My one ray of hope is that Rambo is from the area, knows a few cops, and hopefully I'll hear something between today and tomorrow that might offer me a bit of wiggle room. Ha! We'll see about that. I've heard about this in Delaware, where the cop doesn't bother to show up to court, and the fines go away. I'm hoping the cop has something better to do with his time and chooses not to show up.

Here's my own personal website for court... my time comes at 6 p.m.!!!!

COP WATCH - 1/3/06 - 7:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
6 of NJ's Finest Seen on the Roads Today

So we had a nice little 6-Pack today, all Jersey Troopers, 3 running radar (one black unmarked car tucked neatly behind some trees on the New Jersey Turnpike, about 15 miles past the Del. Mem. Bridge). The other three had already nailed people, two on the AC Expressway.

Since my little run-in with the "Franklin Fucking Township Police Department", I haven't been taking my usual backwoods way to and from work. I've been hitting the TP/AC Exp/GSP pretty hard. Last night was the first time since November I took 559/Rt. 40 to the bridge. Cost me about 15 minutes as well.

SHIT THAT PISSES ME OFF…

Welcome to a fun segment that I hope will continue throughout the year. This is when I rail on things that drive me nucking futs in my daily life. These are things that most would call little, but when they consistently resurface over and over again is when it starts to take my toll. This is column is going to resemble slightly, Peter Griffin’s “You Know What Really Grinds My Gears” from the Family Guy movie. So without further ado… my first subject:

MY SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO – Man, just thinking about this is starting to piss me off.

1. Lack of Reception
The #1 most annoying thing about the radio is the lack of reception continually experienced throughout the day-to-day usage of the unit. I have the Sportster that my pops got for my brother-in-law and I last Christmas. I have a commute of 3 hours daily and can probably get reception about 45-55 minutes of my drive. It’s not like I’m traveling underground here either. I take main highways (NJ Turnpike, AC Expressway and GS Parkway) for over 90% of my trip. I am constantly moving the disc antenna back and fourth on my dashboard trying to get a clear and concise signal. Where the hell are the satellites, underground???

2. The power and antenna chords are EVERYWHERE
The original thought behind this unit was to have it installed on your dash of your car. Good thought. I was going to drive around with it loose until I got time to have it installed. I quickly learned that having it installed in the car wouldn’t make any sense since you need to keep repositioning the antenna in your car for ANY type of reception. The antenna is designed with a 25 foot wire that’s supposed to snake in and around your car once the unit is installed. If you don’t want it installed, you stuck with 25 feet of wire, or basically a tumbleweed of chords rolling around your car, wrapped around your gearshift and generally fucking with my Jeep’s Feng shui.

3. The antenna chord has broken twice already
I had two mishaps with my antenna chord. Well, actually three, one doesn’t count, because I didn’t care about the loss of the home antenna. In the above mentioned ball of antenna situation, one day I was looking for something in the car. I was furiously sliding seats back and fourth in the Jeep. In this moment, the wire was laying across the metal sliding area where the seat goes, and at once, my antenna wire was severed, rendering my radio useless. So I went to Best Buy for a little help. If anyone has EVER been to Best Buy, help does not exist. What bothered me was the fact that the guy dealing with me was a raging prick, so I marched over to the Sirius display, purchased the same unit, went outside to the sidewalk, took the new antenna out of the box and chucked the piece of shit antenna in the box. Took it back to customer service and got my money back. Done and done. Nothing that guy could do about it. Eight or nine months later, same type of deal, except the radio just didn’t feel like recognizing the antenna. This time Radio Shack was my victim. It’s a nice solution. My one suggestion is to use cash, it takes too long to get the $$$ back in the account if you’re using a debit card.

4. I love it and it would take 5 more reasons for me to turn off my subscription
God damn this radio. So over 100 channels of music, Howard Stern, and every college and pro football game you can imaging. PLUS, one of my favorites, Discovery Radio, makes you feel like your getting an education. There’s just too much good stuff on here, to whack the $10 a month subscription. Give me four more reasons to cancel (does it cause cancer? Make you impotent? Make your hair fall out?), then we’ll call it a day.

As part of my job as a PR guy is to make apperances at radio stations throughout the year to promote events, offers, etc for the golf courses I represent. Tomorrow I am heading to my favorite radio show, not on satallite, Preston & Steve Morning Show on WMMR. I am making my annual holiday visit and I'll be delivering some Deerfield, Hartefeld and Inniscrone gear to Preston, Steve, Casey and Kathy. I will also be brining along with me some McFarlane action figures from the LOST television show. The guys are HUGE fans of the toys and the show, so it'll be my pleasure to stop by with some fun gifts the the show. My hope is that since it's so close to vacation they will throw us on the air. While on air, I will have the golf pro Chris Boos talk about Deerfield's new membership offerings. So you see, I have a whole strategy. I will be in there around 8-8:30, so listen in...

Here's a pic of Kris and I at the Philadelphia "Rocky Balboa" premier. I picked her up from CHOP and he headed downtown to the Prince Music Theatre. I was told by my buddy Paddy Mac to get there around 6:30 p.m. He had warned me prior the event was being hadled poorly and he'd put me on the list, but warned us that there may be some hiccups.

Hiccups there were. Of course, our names were not on the list. Minor issue. The nice lady at the will call table told us to stand off to the side and she'd get us in at 7pm. When you're hungry, 30 minutes standing outside can seem like a long time. Kris was getting a tad perturbed, but 7pm came, they gave us our tickets (which were pretty good).

We ended up sitting between three people who were in the film, Burt Young (Uncle Paulie) Max Kellerman (Max Kellerman) and Geraldine Hughes (little Marie). The movie was solid - obviously, not the best Rocky by any stretch, but solid none the less.

Kris was really into it, which she let the CBS3 cameras know about it, when they interviewed us on our way out. Kris was a little disapointed to watch the news that night only to find out they had cut our interview from the segment. Oh well! Guess she'll have to wait until the next premier.
